Attention Windows NT/2000/XP users: Administrative or elevated privileges are required to install SSI-SNAP on these systems (Complete package or the application and help component). Users do not have to have administrative or elevated privileges to use installed SSI-SNAP application and its components.

NOTE: A message "Unable to save file..." appearing at the beginning of downloading/installation indicates that the user does not have enough privileges to download/install SSI-SNAP. Cancel downloading and do one of the following:

  • Ask your local administrator to download and install SSI-SNAP.
  • Ask you local administrator to grant you elevated privileges to install SSI-SNAP.
  • Log on into your computer from the account having administrative or elevated privileges. Download and install SSI-SNAP.

The size of the modules is in megabytes (MB) as shown in parenthesis in the following A/B format:

A - size of the downloadable module

B - size of the application after installation; it can be less if you do not install all available components

Download SSI-SNAP Complete Package V 5.4.2 (30 MB / 137 MB)—The package includes the SSI-SNAP application, a help module, Click USA (There is an updated ClickUSA version 12.1 – September 2012. This version contains demographic estimates targeted to July 01, 2012. Income estimates refer to income earned during the calendar year of 2011. Demographics are projected forward from the Census 2010. Click here to download the updated 2012 ClickUSA instructions), Click Canada (with Census 2006 data), and geography files (for USA and other countries).

Please close the SSI-SNAP application and all its components before downloading.

If you are installing SSI-SNAP for the first time or upgrading V 4.2.2 or earlier, you may choose at installation time which of the SSI-SNAP features to install.

If you are upgrading SSI-SNAP V 4.3.1 or later, the setup will automatically upgrade the installed features only.

In order to additionally install or remove individual SSI-SNAP features after installation or upgrade, you should run the SSI-SNAP setup in the modify mode. This mode is available from the Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs > SSI-SNAP. See Readme.txt ("Upgrading SSI-SNAP" and "Using the 'Add/Remove Programs' Panel) for more information.

Note regarding geography files: Geography files in the installation package may be newer or older than the files on your computer. After installing SSI-SNAP, please be advised to check the status of the geography files via the SSI-SNAP application (the SSI-SNAP menu Tools > Download Geography Files > Selective). If you do not do so, SSI-SNAP will verify the status of your geography files automatically as soon as SSI-SNAP connects to SSI to order or retrieve a sample. You will be prompted to download geography if at least one of the geography files on your computer is outdated.

Download Click Canada (2 MB / 7 MB) - Version 3.0 - August 2009. This version is based on Census 2006 of Canada. (About Click Canada)

When installation begins, you will be asked where to save the Click Canada files. It is recommended to install Click Canada in the subfolder ClickCAN of the SSI-SNAP application folder. If updating, you should choose the location of the current Click Canada. To find the current location, open SSI-SNAP and click Options > Setup in the main menu. Notice the field 'Directory for Click Canada'. An alternative way to determine the current Click Canada location is to search your computer for the file ClickCan.xls.
